Citadel

"A shock comparable to the first films of David Cronenberg and Clive Barker"

Mad Movies

Tommy, a young father with a modest background, falls into agoraphobia following the assault of his pregnant wife by a monstrous and ultra-violent gang. Ciaran Foy's first feature film, Citadel, is a punchy work whose genesis dates back to a violent incident experienced by the director himself. Engaging the viewer on an emotional level rarely reached in a horror production, Citadel is experienced as a harsh and unsettling dive into a terribly credible urban hell. A shock to be placed alongside David Cronenberg's The Brood and Philip Ridley's Heartless.
