The characteristics of our XL Mexican hammocks
Why Mexican hammocks stand out
It's hard to say that Mexican hammocks like this XL "Carmen" hammock are better than all other hammocks, because each type of hammock has its pros and cons depending on each person's usage and preferences. However, it is true that Mexican hammocks have distinctive characteristics that make them very popular and appreciated by many users.
A mesh hammock with a unique and attractive design
Mexican hammocks are distinguished by their unique design, being woven into a net shape. Descendants of the Mayans, these hammocks come in a wide range of colors and patterns, making them aesthetically very appealing. Their open mesh structure facilitates air circulation, making them perfect for handling heat while still allowing natural ventilation. They are particularly suitable for people prone to heavy sweating and who like to rest outdoors. Additionally, the stretchy material can help distribute weight more evenly, providing additional comfort.
A portable hammock for outdoor use
Expandable mesh hammocks are also very lightweight and easy to transport, making them an ideal choice for campers and hikers. Finally, this type of hammock is often easy to set up and take down, making it convenient for outdoor use. To choose your fasteners, go to the page: My fasteners.
Cultural anecdote: The origin of the term “Gringo”
Did you know? The term "gringo" originated during the occupation of Mexico by American troops in 1914. The soldiers were dressed in green, and the local population called them "green go". Even after the soldiers left, the expression remained. It's common to hear people refer to you as "chele", which is the inversion of the word "leche" (milk) in verlan, referring to the foreigner's light skin color. "Gringo" is generally considered more derogatory than "chele".
